Hi, I am Dawn Johannes; I am a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer. Like many people after gaining weight in adulthood I became an active global gym member. I was successful at dropping a substantial amount of weight and getting in better shape. But after a couple of years I found myself struggling to keep my weightlifting workouts interesting. Then, with a little nudge from my husband, I was introduced to Crossfit. That’s all it took to get hooked.
I have been doing Crossfit since January of 2012. At first the Olympic lifting moves made me feel uncoordinated and frustrated. With time I have come to love the challenge. It has given me such a better understanding of fitness and nutrition. Every class is programmed for the athlete. The goal is to reach your own personal record. My intensity and endurance has skyrocketed. My enthusiasm to workout and the friends I have made are priceless. My fitness increases with each aspect of Crossfit I incorporate.
I became a coach so I could help others gain understanding and love for Crossfit. The Crossfit community is unmatched. The encouragement to finish each WOD is second to none. I will share this journey with my husband and my children for many years to come. Crossfit has become more than just a fitness program to me; it has become a major part of my life.
